2009 Advance End of Year Reporting – DUE 4 DECEMBER 2009

Annual reporting by schools involved in delivering Advance is due to the Office for Youth (OFY) by 4 December 2009.

To assist schools in completing their 2009 report, OFY has developed a support document highlighting what is required to successfully complete each section of the report.

To assist schools in completing their budget acquittal, Advance co-ordinators will be mailed confirmation of their school’s 2009 funded amount, including any amount of unspent funds from 2008. As the Advance grant is paid inclusive of GST, all expenses must reflect the amount of GST incurred. A GST calculator is available below to assist in this process.

For auditing purposes, schools are required to retain all receipts for purchases relating to Advance.

2009 Advance Survey

In 2009, a random sample of 10% of all Advance schools from regional and metropolitan Victoria were selected by OFY to complete a survey of young people pre and post program.

Pre program surveys have now been collated, with post program surveys to be sent to these schools in early term 4 for completion by 13 November 2009.

Survey data will assist in ascertaining the impact of Advance on young people and ensure their views contribute to the improvement of the program.

In 2008, 784 young people involved in Advance completed a pre and post program survey which found:
  • 61% of young people were more confident as a result of completing Advance
  • 64% were more confident in making decisions to solve problems as a result of doing Advance
  • 70% felt they contributed to portraying the school in a positive manner to the community
  • 55% of students said their school performance improved as a result of participating in Advance

2009 Community Partnership Notifications

The Advance Community Partnership Agreement has been changed to a condensed one-page Community Partnership Notification. This new form will provide schools with the opportunity to briefly outline up to five partnerships undertaken through Advance. A support document has also been produced to assist schools in completing and returning this form to the Office For Youth.

On-Line Forum

The Advance
On-Line Forum has been specifically created for Advance Co-ordinators to share ideas, resources and experiences.
