The Minister for Local Government launched the 2008 Local Government in Victoria Report at the Local Government Ministerial Forum Dinner on 29 April 2009. The Report presents an overview of the performance of local government in Victoria in 2008.

Electoral Representation Reviews - Consultation


Local Government Victoria has issued a consultation paper (PDF 116 kb) or (Word 166 kb) which considers possible reforms to the Electoral Representation Review process for councils. Electoral Representation Reviews are currently conducted for each municipality every eight years to consider electoral structures and electoral boundaries. Public submissions are invited by 23 December 2009 and an electronic template (Word 110 kb) is provided to assist submissions.

Better Practice Local Laws Guidelines


The consultation draft of the Guidelines for Local Laws Manual is now available for review. LGV encourages feedback on this resource to support Councils in achieving better practice.

Report on Brimbank City Council

Register of Interests Guide


All Councillors, members of Council special committees and nominated staff must lodge primary and ordinary returns in which they disclose particular private interests that have the potential to become conflicts of interest. Read the Register of Interests Guide.
