The Department of Planning and Community Development (DPCD) has been established to closely link planning with community development to build active, confident, and inclusive communities.

A Fairer Victoria 2008
The Premier and Minister for Community Development have launched ‘A Fairer Victoria 2008: Strong People Strong Communities’.
A Fairer Victoria 2008 commits over $1 billion to a range of initiatives, bringing the total investment since 2005 to over $4 billion. A Fairer Victoria 2008 focuses on giving children the best start, improving education and helping people into work, improving health and wellbeing and developing liveable communities.

New ACFE website

Certificates of Recognition for Victorian volunteers
As part of the Victorian Government’s support for volunteers across the state, DPCD has launched a new Certificate of Recognition for Volunteers to help acknowledge the work of both local volunteers and volunteer-based organisations. National Volunteer Week from 12-18 May is a great time to present this certificate to volunteers in your community.
New residential zones discussion paper released
